I have installed openwrt snapshot on my r5c but every time I reboot, the MAC changes.
I need to use the factory MAC address and to keep it permanently.
1 How can I find the factory MAC?
2 How can I use something like UCI for example to permanently keep the factory MAC?
Well, I finally know why and it’s a TON of time lost thanks to a manufacturer that doesn’t bother giving the details. There are supposedly two types of their routers or at least the r5c. One that doesn’t have static MAC addresses and one that is called ‘enterprise’ that does.
The non static ones are a huge pain when you’re working with dozens of devices picking up dhcp regularly. Wish I’d have known that but now I know to hard code a MAC address in the network file.
