Flashing YY3588 from Linux?

I’m the happy new owner of a YY3588, but am having trouble finding information about changing the eMMC content so that I can boot it from SD or USB. I’ve read a few similar topics, but they resort to making use of a windows program for flashing. I dont have a window system, just linux.

Is there a linux program I can use to flash the emmc?

My YY3588 came with android preinstalled, I have tried a few different sd cards with valid images, but nothing boots. I presume this to be because the boot order is SPI, eMMC, SD, … Would zeroing out the first few bytes of the emmc cause it to try the SD card next?

Is it possible to run the windows flashing software under some sort of emulation?

Hi

Please provide the order details and contact support@youyeetoo.com

or you can try this system.

Thank you!

After much trial and error with a few different computers and finally having to set LD_PRELOAD to a working version of wayland-client.so (the one bundled in the appimage is broken) I was able to launch the Armbian imager.

I was able to create a bootable SD card with this and I will be able to move forward. I am curious to know is it just the choice of images I tried to use previously or does the Armbian flasher do something more than just image the SD card?

Also, coincidentally, I did zero out the emmc device and destroy the android system while trying to boot other SD images before trying the Armbian imager. I mention this for completeness. I’m hoping to write a valid image to the emmc while booting from the SD card later.

Thanks, again.

ues DD cmd or

or

may help you flash the img to sd card.
